Family Support Services Inc. thinks children matter. That’s why we’ve been creating Philadelphia-area programs that meet the needs of young children since 1976.
Through early intervention services, parenting education and support programs, and school-based childcare Family Support Services’ (FSS) programs help about 1720 children and their parents today.
Helping them today will make their lives more successful tomorrow.
FSS is a program-driven agency. We build programs that address children’s needs and parenting problems early. By caring about children now, we feel we can build a better future.
Our Mission
Family Support Services’ mission is to support family life, prepare children for success in school and to help them develop life skills. Our programs strive to prevent child abuse, neglect, and developmental delays, and to improve parenting skills.
FSS stresses education for parents and children and provides social work support to families and specialized therapy to children.
Our Focus and Philosophy
Family Support Services uses education and social support to identify and treat the needs of children, birth to age five, who are at risk of child abuse or neglect or who have been identified with developmental delays. FSS believes that all families with young children can use support and offers high quality school-based childcare for working parents in seven elementary schools.
All our programs emphasize education as a way to build self-esteem and strengthen the individual parent and child, and collectively, the family.
