Welcome to the Family Support Services website. We believe that it is important for parents to know about and be involved in their child/ren's education, so we post monthly information about classroom and after-school activities.
Brookline Kindergarten Extended Day News
February has kept us busy at Brookline. We had lots of fun with Groundhog Day, Mardi Gras, the Chinese New Year and the 100th day of school celebrations. There was much excitement over the crafts and activities surrounding Valentine’s Day and lots of learning about our US presidents for Presidents’ Day including facts about the White House and other national landmarks in Washington D.C.
The month of March brings with it many new activities for Kindergarten. We will celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss by reading many of his well-loved books and poems. St. Patrick’s Day will bring leprechaun fun, a study of Ireland and lots of rainbows with pots of gold!
The children will be celebrating the beginning of spring and will continue to learn about our 50 states and about the many famous landmarks in our country. Your at-home encouragement and reinforcement will boost your child’s self-esteem as well as help to stimulate his/her future interest in learning.
SPECIAL DATES
March 4th—Act 80 Day (Early Dismissal)
March 5th—In-service Day (closed unless you have registered for the
closing package)
Happy Spring!
Sincerely,
Peggy Boyko, Site Director

Brookline Extended Day After School Program News
The month of February was an exciting time at Brookline. We celebrated Valentine's Day by decorating Heart Shaped Bobble Note Holders and, in honor of both past and present Presidents, we drafted our own "If I were President" speeches.
Students have enjoyed participating in Karate sessions, endless rounds of Twister, and games of Musical chairs as the winter weather has forced us to remain indoors. The snap tracks and K'nex have also become a huge hit with the children and they are all competing to make the most creative designs.
New action games (including freeze dancing) have been planned for March. Information about March crafts and snacks will be outlined in the monthly calendar that is available at the sign-out table.
A new karate session begins on March 1st. If you are interested in signing up, please see an after-school staff member.
Sincerely,
Tammy Jolaoso—After School Director
Claire Schmick—Teacher
Rebecca Olley—Assistant Teacher
Megan Ruff—Assistant Teacher
A Safety Reminder – call when your child is absent
The Brookline classroom number is 610-853-3724. Please remember to call when your child will not be coming on a scheduled day. Whenever a child does not show up as expected, the teacher must devote time to locate him/her so as to be sure he/she is safe. We care about your children—so do let us know whenever we should not expect them to arrive at our after school program.
Licensing and Teacher Certification credentials
