Chatham Park Before and After Care Program News

In May, we not only enjoyed much more comfortable weather, but we also showed our gratitude to all of our special Moms with some fun and artistic crafts. Some of these included decorating a pot and planting a seed for the children’s Mothers.

We started out the month with a little “outer space” theme by making space pudding (we replicated how astronauts would eat in zero gravity by making/eating pudding out of sandwich bags).

We made sun-catchers and hosted a pajama day, where we lounged around in our jammies for our Pajama Party on our in-service day.

Our students also continue to enjoy indoor activities when it rains. We’ve made amazing structures with K-Nex and Lego’s, and our favorite games have been Trivial Pursuit for Kids, I-Spy, and Connect 4. We also enjoyed Dodge Ball, Basketball, and Kick-Ball.

May also brought another type of celebration...one of our after care teachers got married! We all congratulated Ms. Jenn and wished her the best!

We also, unfortunately, had to say good-bye to one of our before-care teachers. Mr. Stuart is moving to North Carolina, and looks forward to being a Dad soon. We all wish him and his family the best, and we will all miss him!

As the school year comes to a close, we will continue to play outdoors as much as possible! We are thinking about having a Summer Kick-off celebration in June, with the possibility of a Beach Party theme (more details to come). Even though Father’s Day is not until the 21st, the children will still be making Father’s Day crafts to show their gratitude.

Special Dates to Remember:

June 16th is the last day of school (last day of Before Care, too) and there will be early dismissal. There will be no after-care. Have a great summer!!!

**As a reminder, if your child will be absent from Before or After care for any reason, please call the site at (610) 853-6887. Also, if your child will be picked up by someone other than a parent, please give us a call or send in a note to let us know. If this person is picking up your child for the first time, picture identification is necessary.

We have all enjoyed the time spent with our Before Care and After Care students this year! We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer, and look forward to seeing you in September!
