Chatham Park Extended Day Before and After School Program News

May and June are upon us, and all of us at After Care have been really enjoying the warmer weather and getting outdoors more often.

In April, we not only celebrated Spring’s arrival, but we also celebrated Earth Day! To honor Earth Day, students decorated flower pots and planted seeds. We spread our wings by constructing several different paper airplane designs and held a contest to discover which design flew the greatest distance and which plane was the fanciest flyer!

While outside or in the gym, we enjoyed several gross motor activities, including the ever-popular Dodge Ball and Run The Bases! Indoor games we enjoyed included Apples to Apples, Chess, and Spoons.

As spring yields to summer, we look forward to enjoying even more comfortable weather and time outdoors. We will be showing our appreciation for each of our wonderful Moms with some Mother’s Day cards and creative crafts.

For Memorial Day we plan to make special Memorial Day flags, as well as friendship bracelets and handprint lilies. Everybody is especially looking forward to Pajama Day during our all day in-service day on May 18th. For our half day In-service day on May 14th we plan a Pizza party.

As the school year comes to a close, we expect to be outdoors as much as possible. We’re going to have an Ice Cream Sundae Party and a Beach Party! We’ll show our gratitude to our awesome Dads by making some special Father’s Day crafts and cards, and we will enjoy painting shells and doing sand art before summer break finally starts on June 22nd.

June 20th...Father’s Day!
June 22nd...Last day of School! Dismissal at 11:30am (Last day for Before care/No After-Care)

A Safety Reminder – call when your child is absent

If your child will be absent from Before or After care for any reason, please call the site at (610) 853-6887. We care about your children—so do let us know whenever we should not expect them to arrive at our after school program. Also, if your child will be picked up by someone other than a parent, please give us a call or send in a note to let us know. If this person is picking up your child for the first time, picture identification is necessary. Also, please make sure to check for any important information/lost and found items by the sign-out sheets.

Licensing and Teacher Certification credentials

Extended Day programs are state licensed. All site directors and assistant teachers are certified.
