Welcome to the Family Support Services Website. We believe that it is important for parents to know about and be involved in their child/ren's education, so we post monthly information about classroom and after-school activities.
Chestnutwold Kindergarten Extended Day News
Last Year
It is hard to believe that the year has come to an end. We have had a wonderful time working with each and every student and I am sure that all of our parents are proud of the work their children have done at Extended Day Kindergarten.
Last spring we closed out the year with a terrific "down on the farm" performance. This capped an exciting month spent discussing the duties of farmers, learning about farm animals, and studying products grown on farms. We also "traveled" from the farm to the ocean for our final unit of the year. We learned about fish anatomy, and studied the many kinds of wonderful creatures that live in our seas.
We covered a number of famous artists throughout the year, and to wind things up we took an imaginary bus trip to a museum. The children had to guess the names of the artists whose paintings "hung" in our museum, and we learned how to behave when visiting a museum by using our quiet voices and refraining from touching the artwork.
Next Year
Even though we are now on summer break, we are getting ready for the coming year. If you have already enrolled in extended day you should have received information about your program and your School Closing Package in the mail.
If you have not yet enrolled in our 2008-2009 programs, you can still download an enrollment form (click on the document you want to download under Related Information in the right sidebar) and mail it in with your enrollment fee. The school closing package can also be downloaded – but only until September 29th!
School starts September 2nd and we can't wait!

Chestnutwold After School Program News
Last year
We spent a lot of the spring outside; playing, jumping, swinging and having great fun in the fresh air. Except for rainy days, we went outside almost every afternoon! We closed out the year with a great pizza party in mid-June, and then said our goodbyes for the summer.
Next Year
We can't wait to see all our returning students in the fall—and notice how they've all grown. We also look forward to welcoming our new students.
If you have not yet signed up for our before and after school programs – be sure to download a form and send it in!
Don't forget to consider the School Closing Package too. You must sign up before September 29th.
A Safety Reminder – call when your child is absent
The Chestnutwold classroom number is 610-642-1987. Please remember to call when your child will not be coming on a scheduled day. If your child does not show up as expected, the teacher must devote considerable time to locating him/her in order to be sure he/she is safe. We care about your children—so let us know when we should not expect them to arrive at our after school program.
Licensing and Teacher Certification credentials
