Ithan Kindergarten Extended Day News

Last Year

Spring took us through a unit on the solar system. We read books about our planets and got to learn many interesting facts, such as how our weight might change on another planet. We learned what the planets in our solar system are composed of and how they compare to our Earth. Our seven-day look into the solar system gave us all a chance to learn more about what is happening beyond our planet.

We started our spring season by doing a week-long discovery learning unit on insects. We were able to read fiction and nonfiction books about a wide variety of insects, and each day we did an activity that allowed us to discuss what we learned about a particular bug.

The school year flew by, and by the end of it our writing skills had improved a lot. Our kid writing centers got increasingly more interesting as the year progressed. The students became more creative and their handwriting was vastly improved. We also made progress with our learning center's mathematical games. It was amazing to see how much students advance during the course of the year.

Next Year

Even though we are now on summer break, we are getting ready for the coming year. If you have already enrolled in extended day you should have received information about your program and your School Closing package in the mail.

If you have not yet enrolled in our 2008-2009 programs, you can still download an enrollment form (click on the document you want to download under Related Information in the right sidebar) and mail it in with your enrollment fee. The school closing package can also be downloaded—but only until September 29th!

School starts September 2nd.

Ithan After School Program News

Last year

As the weather cooperated and spring got underway the students enjoyed longer play times outside. Last May we watched everyone show off their free throw shots and super fast running. Our end-of-the year mural theme was "May Flowers" and it served as a beautiful and inspiring conclusion to our spring season mural projects.

Next Year

We can't wait to see all our returning students in the fall—and notice how they've all grown. We also look forward to welcoming our new students.

If you have not yet signed up for our before and after school programs—be sure to download a form and send it in!

Don't forget to consider the School Closing Package too. You must sign up before September 29th.

A Safety Reminder – call when your child is absent

The Ithan classroom number is 610-525-0803. Please remember to call when your child will not be coming on a scheduled day. If your child does not show up as expected, the teacher must devote considerable time to locating him/her in order to be sure he/she is safe. We care about your children—so let us know when we should not expect them to arrive at our after school program.

Licensing and Teacher Certification credentials

Extended Day programs are state licensed. All site directors and assistant teachers are certified.
