Welcome to the Family Support Services website. We believe that it is important for parents to know about and be involved in their child/ren's education, so we post monthly information about classroom and after-school activities.
Radnor Kindergarten Extended Day News
At Radnor Elementary School K-Club we are happy to say goodbye to all this snow and hello to warmer days ahead!
We are gearing up for a great month: March will bring many fun and interesting activities for our K-club children. We will finish our unit on Science and the Scientific method. Your children will be bringing home a science notebook filled with all of our science observation reports from our experiments throughout the month.
We will finish up the science unit with a Five Senses Fair. Our classroom will be set up with different activities that require one or more of our Five Senses to complete. The Fair will also include a senses walk that will really surprise the students.
We really enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year with yummy treats and a Dragon parade. The children decorated a box and made an amazing Dragon mask for the parade. We also celebrated with a Chinese New Year song and dance.
As we move into March we will celebrate St. Patrick ’s Day with crafts, green snacks and a visit from a friendly leprechaun.
March is Superhero month. We will be creating our own superheroes and putting together a classroom comic book!
March has several special “School Closing Package” program days coming up. They are March 3, 4, 5 and 15. If you signed up for the closing package at the beginning of the year, your children can come to Family Support Services’ (FSS) Extended Day programs on those days.
Our Spring Break starts on March 29th and runs until April 4th. Extended Day programs will be closed during throughout Spring Break.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have. Our classroom number is 610-293-7665.
Sincerely,
Your K-Club Staff—

Radnor Extended Day After School Program News
March at Radnor is here! The end of winter is greatly anticipated and green is the color of the month. Fun arts and crafts, outside play and St Patrick’s Day are on the calendar as spring bursts forth.
Speaking of spring and newness, the staff is thrilled to welcome our newest teacher, Maria McCracken. She graduated from Cabrini College last June with a degree in Education. She has hit the ground running and is quickly learning the ropes and getting to know all the children and parents. Maria’s new, fresh ideas are going to be an asset to us.
Our celebration of St. Patrick’s Day will include arts and crafts projects such as leprechauns, shamrock chains, green play dough, and green and white marble painting. Our snack will be green popcorn on St. Patrick’s Day! To welcome spring we are planning the following arts and crafts — spring glitter paint, wind socks and tissue flowers with vases.
As the weather warms up, our outdoor and gym activities will intensify. We’ll be playing baseball, and doing some bowling, obstacle course activities and racing games. We will be expanding our lungs to include a great deal of fresh air which we have been missing very much!
It has been a wonderful year so far. The staff is looking forward to enjoying spring with your children after such a long, cold, snowy, winter. Our tradition of providing the best service, guidance, innovation and environment will continue for our families.
