Welcome to the Family Support Services website. We believe that it is important for parents to know about and be involved in their child/ren's education, so we post monthly information about classroom and after-school activities.

Wayne Kindergarten Extended Day News

Happy spring! It is so nice to see the sun shining, the flowers blooming, and the grass growing. We have brightened up our classroom with a lot of spring artwork done by our very own K-Club artists.

We welcomed spring by spending April learning about the life cycles of animals and plants that emerge each spring. We talked about insects, butterflies, frogs, and flowers. We even got a few “new additions” to our classroom; our very own ant farm and two tadpoles. We have been observing our new pets closely and recording the changes that they have been going through.

We have been working very hard on our end of the year show and have begun to practice in the little theater. The children are very excited to share their talents with their parents and friends! We look forward to seeing you on May 26th for the big show!

Please remember to check your child’s K-Club folder every day. We have been sending home very important information regarding the show.

I know June is just around the corner, so Miss Clemence and I both wish our families a happy summer break!

Sincerely,

Miss Feldman, Site Director
Miss Clemence, Teacher

Wayne Extended Day After School Program News

Dear Parents and Families,

I am happy to welcome a new family to After School. Kyle, Nick and Ryan Schiller all joined us this past April. Kyle is in second grade, and Nick and Ryan are in first.

In terms of our activities, we have enjoyed the warm spring and have made extensive use of the playground. The children enjoy being outside and love their games of Mexican Dodgeball and Kickball. Mr. M is always on hand for kickball and soccer pointers.

You may have noticed the large number of paper airplanes flying about, and this has all been thanks to Mr. Keith. We have planes of various shapes and designs exploring our airspace, and the volume of paper we’ve enjoyed playing with has really put our recycled paper-bin to the test.

Ms. K is readily available for games, homework, and craft projects and helps us keep our rooms organized! The homework room is always open for our students and the teachers help keep our students focused and answer all of their questions.

We have a lot of clothing and other items in our Lost and Found. I am hoping these items can be claimed by their owners before the end of the school year. If you are missing anything, please feel free to come by and look through our collection.

Don’t forget to call when your child will not be in After Session. Even if you have written it in the composition notebook it still helps us when you call to remind our staff.

The last six weeks of the school year always go by so fast. It seemed not that long ago I was welcoming you to another year of After School. We have enjoyed having your children with us this year, and for those who will be remaining at Wayne next fall, we look forward to their return to our program.

Thank you again for sharing your children with us. Have a safe, healthy and HAPPY summer… wear your sunscreen! See you in September!

Sincerely,

Lisa Mottes, Director
Doug Keith, Teacher
Athena Kontaxis, Teacher
Eddie Maiwald, Teacher

A Safety Reminder – call when your child is absent

The Wayne classroom number is 610-293-0338. Please remember to call when your child will not be coming on a scheduled day. Whenever a child does not show up as expected, the teacher must devote time to locate him/her so as to be sure he/she is safe. We care about your children—so do let us know whenever we should not expect them to arrive at our after school program.
